About Me – Henry Peachey

Hello! I’m Henry Peachey, a wedding photographer based in Cumbernauld, and I’ve had the absolute pleasure of photographing weddings across Scotland for over 50 years.

My journey began back in 1974 at the prestigious Donald Milne Photography Studio in Glasgow – a place that shaped the way I see light, timing, and emotion. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of documenting thousands of weddings, from grand Highland affairs to quiet lochside elopements. I’ve travelled the length and breadth of Scotland (and beyond!), always in search of that perfect moment – the real smiles, the quiet tears, the laughter between the vows.

Over the years, I’ve developed a calm, relaxed approach that helps couples feel at ease in front of the camera. I believe your wedding should be about joy and celebration – not posing endlessly for photos – so I work quietly in the background, capturing the day as it naturally unfolds.

On the day itself, I like to begin with the arrival of the bridal party and guests. Where possible, I’ll photograph parts of the ceremony (with the celebrant’s permission – something I always recommend checking ahead of time). Afterward, I usually take a little time with the bridal party for the more traditional group shots – and don’t worry, I’ll make sure no one feels like they’re at a photoshoot with paparazzi in tow!

Then, I love to step away with the couple for a short walk – this is often where the most intimate and beautiful photographs happen, away from the crowd, just the two of you.

Once we’re back, I’m more than happy to take any group shots you’d like with friends and family. Before dinner is served, I’ll set up a final few images around the cake – a lovely way to round off the formal photography.

All the while, I’m always on the lookout for those spontaneous, fleeting moments – the ones you might not even notice until you see them in your album.

Oh – and a little bonus: I’m also a bit musical. Ask nicely, and you might just hear a tune or two from my harmonica or whistle collection before the night’s over!
